If you thought Shrimp Jesus signaled the slow, inevitable decay of Facebook, the social media platform is probably about to get much, much worse, recent reports suggest.
According to a Dec. 27 interview published in the Financial Times, the multibillion-dollar company is planning on bloating its platforms with artificial intelligence-generated characters that will make the apps even more ens—ttified than they already are. The move — a desperate attempt to court and retain younger users flocking to alternate platforms like TikTok — comes after Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg funneled billions of dollars into Metaverse products and unleashed a selfie in front of a poorly rendered Eiffel Tower that was so brutally mocked, he actually felt the need to defend himself in front of investors.
