Trump Now Loves H-1Bs, and Big Tech Couldn’t Be Happier

Trump’s doing a 180 on the H-1B visa program, calling it a “great program” and saying he’s “a believer in H-1B,” which is pretty rich considering he used to say it took jobs away from Americans. Big tech companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft are probably popping champagne since they’re some of the top employers of H-1B workers.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk and Tesla have jumped into the H-1B spotlight with a big boost in visa approvals, and Musk, of course, is all-in, saying he’ll “go to war” for it. Critics are side-eyeing this shift, though, pointing out it could undercut wages or opportunities for U.S. workers. Classic tech vs. labor debate, but with Trump unexpectedly taking the side of Silicon Valley billionaires this time.
